Unsolicited submissions on any subject are welcome. In any case, we offer a few starting points below:
• Do organisations really reward competence?
• Why are some intelligent people never promoted?
• How does a mistaken belief that seems true come into being?
• Why do organisations forget what they have learned?
• How can we recognise a problem that does not yet have a name?
• Why has meritocracy become a suspicious word?
• Why do large organisations become increasingly similar to one another?
• Why do people continue to hold meetings that are known to be useless?
• Why do educated people overestimate what can be measured?
• Why is the past so often judged according to the moral categories of the present?
When preparing your submission, please follow these guidelines.
The article:
• Must offer a non-trivial reflection on any phenomenon, or reflect on how we reflect on a phenomenon.
• It does not need to resolve every question it raises: articles that leave questions open are often more interesting than those that claim to settle what cannot yet be settled. An article may also define and contextualise a concept: defining something that has not previously been defined, recognising that something deserves a name and a description, is an important and valuable cultural act.
• Must be between 700 and 1,500 words long.
• Must be entirely unpublished, or an unpublished adaptation.
• Must not be conceived or written using AI tools, or at least must not appear to have been to an educated and attentive reader.
• Must include, at the end, bibliographical references supporting any material cited, as well as, where appropriate, recommended further reading.
• Must be submitted in DOCX or PDF format and must not be protected against copying.
• Must be accompanied by a note about the author, written in the third person. This will be used to create the author’s page. The note must be between 100 and 200 words long.
• The author must also submit a vertical photograph, from the waist or chest up to a close-up portrait. No detailed shots or full-length photographs. The preferred format is square, 900 px per side.
Articles will be published at the discretion of the Editorial Team. Any modifications or adaptations will be agreed upon with the author. No compensation is provided for published articles.
